British actor John Moulder-Brown made an impressive, wide-eyed film debut as a child in 1958's A Cry From the Streets -- an appearance made even more impressive by studio publicity, which shaved several years off his age.

Moulder Brown matured into one of the more intriguing juvenile performers of the '60s, often cast in roles calling for boiling intensity, like The House That Screamed (La Residencia) (1969) and Deep End (1970).

After his role in "A Cry in ther Streets" he cut his acting skills working with the Children's Film Unit 1964-1966 in such productions as Go Kart Go (1964), Runaway Railway (1966) and Operation Third Form (1966).... eventually leading him to his role as Geréb in The Boys of Paul Street (1968).

By the 1970's Moulder Brown was caught up in the European New Cinema which usually included free thinking sexual themes... movies like First Love (1970), Deep End (1970), Forbidden Love Game (1975) and Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull (1982).

By the late 70's, however, he was just another actor in just another horror film, starting with Vampire Circus , while in 1973 he seemed lost amidst the decor and glittering star cast of Visconti's 4-hour Ludwig.

John Moulder Brown worked in films of lessening quality as the '70s and '80s progressed. He popped up in 1987 in the solid, substantial role of the Prince in Amy Irving's filmization of Rumpelstiltskin.

John Moulder-Brown founded The Academy of Creative Training, a drama school in Brighton, Sussex in 1997.
